Kate Matthews Forbes

At the heart of the Starlight Synchro family is it's founder, Kate. Adventurous and ambitious, Kate is an enthusiast who loves skating and who loves a challenge.

As Head coach of the club, she has supported its development over the last 9 years from 1 team, two coaches skating out of one rink to now to 5 teams & 7 coaches, skating out of 3 different rinks. Kate is friendly and outgoing, tirelessly recruiting new skaters from all over Scotland.

Also a qualified architect, the art school influence is evident in the interesting and challenging concepts Kate uses in her choreography.

As a pupil of the legendary British singles skater Jean Scott, (1973 European silver medalist & 5th at Worlds) Kate grew up skating for the Magnum club in Irvine and later trained at both Paisley & Murrayfield Ice rinks.
